Harvest Stompede Leelanau Wine Trail Traverse City

The Harvest Stompede is back in Leelanau County! Run, walk, or just sip wine, it’s a great time to be in Northern Michigan.

This fall, there is plenty to do Up North. Traverse City is has a full slate of fun events throughout autumn. With so many to choose from, it’s easy to miss a gem like the Harvest Stompede. The Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail brings you this great event on September 9 and 10. It’s a nice segway from summer to fall colors, wines, and harvest time.

Saturday is a busy one. The Stompede kicks off with a 5km walk, run, or 7 mile running race at Ciccone Winery. All ages and abilities are welcome to wind their way through the vines. It’s a great time, too. The local vineyards will be absolutely laden with grapes and brilliant foliage. There should be just a hint of color in the trees as well!

But there’s more than running around to get excited about. Your Harvest Stompede ticket includes a souvenir wine glass, a special wine pour, and a food pairing at each of the 22 wineries taking part in the special day. The Stompede runs 11-6 on Saturday and 12-5 on Sunday, giving you plenty of time to see them all!

In addition to your special wine and food pairing, most wineries will also offer 2-3 complimentary tastings of the trademark wines that make Northern Michigan special. Our Rieslings and growing reputation for certain reds have become Leelanau’s calling card. You won’t want to miss those!

Tickets for the Harvest Stompede are on sale now.  Note, the running race registration is separate, but you can find it right here.
